You should not change your dog’s diet without consulting your veterinarian first. I recommend consulting your veterinarian before feeding this recipe to your dog. They can help you to determine if this dog food will provide the balanced nutrition that your dog needs, and they may also recommend adding a multivitamin or dietary supplements to the recipe to make it balanced.

  • 1 lb. ground chicken
  • 1 can mackerel
  • 4 cups dry brown rice
  • 8 oz. cottage cheese
  • 7.5 oz. canned pumpkin
  • 6 oz. chopped spinach
  • 6 oz. chopped cauliflower
  • 6 oz. chopped broccoli
  • 1/2 cup ground flaxseed
  • 8 cups water

Boil 8 cups of water in a large pot. Add the chicken and rice to the boiling water and reduce the heat to a simmer. Cook until the rice has absorbed most of the water.

Add the chopped vegetables and mackerel to the pot and stir until everything is thoroughly combined. Allow this dog food recipe for picky eaters to cool completely.

Once cooled, add the cottage cheese, pumpkin and flaxseed to the recipe. Stir until it’s completely combined and then you can serve it to your pet.
