Frozen dog treats are a great way to help your pup beat the heat this time of year. I make them year round for an after exercise snack or just to feed as an alternative to traditional biscuit treats. This easy frozen dog treat recipe can be prepared in just a few minutes, and they’re sure to tempt your canine companion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/4 cup yogurt
  • 1/4 cup frozen blueberries & strawberries

Instructions

Mix the peanut butter, water and yogurt in a small mixing bowl until throughly combined. Add more water if needed to get a pourable consistency.

As you’ll see in my video guide, I used cute silicone pig molds to make my dog treats. You can use any silicone molds that you have on hand or an ice cube tray.

Fill the molds with the yogurt mixture until they’re about 3/4 full. You’ll want to leave room to add the fruit. Push blueberries and strawberry pieces into each treat.

You could use any type of fruits or veggies that are dog friendly. Apples, bananas or carrots would be great additions too. You could also substitute pureed pumpkin for the peanut butter if your dog’s digestive tract needs a boost.

Freeze the treats until hardened. You can serve them to your dog as soon as they’re frozen.
