The only way that you can be sure you know the exact ingredients in your pet’s treats is by making them yourself. Doing so allows you to cater the treats to your pet’s needs.
If you need low protein treats, low fat treats or just healthy homemade treats for cats, you can customize your recipes to meet these needs.
Preheat your oven to 350˚ F.
In my video guide, I used leftover turkey from a meal that I made the night before for my human family members. You could use fresh turkey or ground turkey.
Cook the turkey anyway that you’d like. If you use fresh turkey, you’ll need to mince it in a food processor.
In a mixing bowl, combine the turkey, flour, egg and oil to create a meaty dough. Roll the dough out on a floured surface until it is about 1/4″ thick.
Transfer the dough onto a large piece of parchment paper. Place the parchment paper on a baking sheet.
Use a knife or pizza cutter to score the dough into small triangles.
Bake the treats in your 350˚ oven for about 20 mins. Once the treats have cooled, you’ll be able to break the triangles apart.
