This limited ingredient recipe only contains 4 ingredients. It should certainly tempt picky eaters, but may also be a good choice for cats with digestive sensitivities or food allergies. When switching your cat to a homemade diet, it’s best to discuss the change with your veterinarian first.

Your vet will help you decide if this homemade cat food for picky eaters will meet your pet’s nutritional needs. They may recommend adding a multivitamin or supplement to the diet in order to make it nutritionally balanced.

  • ¼ cup chicken breast (cooked)
  • ½ cup long-grain rice (steamed)
  • ½ ounce canned clams, chopped (in juice)
  • 1 tablespoon beef or chicken broth

You can cook the chicken in any manner that you choose. I boiled it, but you could bake it or prepare it in a slow cooker. Cook the rice according to the instructions on the packaging.

Combine all four ingredients in a mixing bowl and stir until evenly distributed. Once the ingredients have cooled completely, you can feed this meal to your cat.
