Wet Dog Food Recipes

Chicken and Greens Skillet Homemade Dog Food

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. boneless chicken breast
  • 1 tbsp. coconut oil
  • 1 cup UNCOOKED quinoa
  • 2 zucchinis (chopped)
  • 1 cup green beans (chopped)
  • 3 cups kale (chopped)

Directions:

  • Cut chicken breast into slices. Add chicken to warm skillet with coconut oil.
  • Cook until chicken is cooked through.
  • Add vegetables.
  • Cover and cook on low heat for 10 minutes.
  • Prepare the quinoa according to the instructions on the package.
  • Combine quinoa with skillet and stir.

Homemade Ground Beef Dog Food

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs. lean ground beef
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup brown rice
  • 1/2 cup mixed vegetables

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 400°.
  • Cook the rice according to instructions on box.
  • Steam or boil vegetables.
  • Mix beef, eggs, rice, and veggies.
  • Grease cookie sheet.
  • Roll up meatballs and place on sheet.
  • Bake meatballs for 45 minutes.

Homemade Vegetarian Dog Food Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cups uncooked quinoa
  • 1 1/3 cups water
  • 1 large sweet potato
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 banana sliced

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 400°.
  • Use fork to poke holes in sweet potato and bake it until tender. (apx. 1 hour)
  • Boil water and add quinoa. Simmer until all water is absorbed.
  • Boil the peas according to the instructions on the packaging.
  • Slice banana and sweet potato into bite-size
  • Mix quinoa, sweet potato, peas, and banana together.

Salmon and Broccoli Dog Food

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. salmon WITH skin
  • 1 tbsp. coconut oil
  • 1 head of broccoli
  • 3 sweet potatoes
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 squash

Directions:

  • Use coconut oil to cook salmon in skillet.
  • Chop squash, carrots, and broccoli. Steam until tender.
  • Boil sweet potatoes until tender then mash.
  • Shred salmon. Add the broccoli, squash, and carrots. Mix thoroughly.
  • Add sweet potato mixture and combine completely.

Beef and Pork Crock Pot Dog Food

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cup water
  • 1 cup brown rice
  • 4 lbs. protein source (I used 1 lb. ground beef and 3 lbs. ground pork)
  • ½ cup blueberries
  • 1 large apple (cubed)
  • 1 cup kale (chopped)
  • 1 large sweet potato (cubed)
  • 2 large carrots (cut into chunks)

Directions:

  • Add all ingredients to slow cooker.
  • Stir the dog food occasionally as it cooks.
  • Cook for 4 hours on ‘high’ or 7 hours on ‘low’.

Dry Dog Food Recipes

Ground Turkey and Lentil Dry Dog Food

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups water
  • 1 cup uncooked brown rice
  • ½ cup lentils
  • 3 medium carrots – chopped
  • 1 medium sweet potato – chopped
  • 1 large apple – cored and chopped
  • ¾ cup steel-cut oats
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • ¼ cup olive oil (you could also use canola oil or sunflower oil)

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • In medium saucepan add 5 cups water, rice, and Bring to boil. Cover and cook on low 20 min.
  • Add one cup of water, chopped carrots, chopped sweet potato, chopped apple, oats, parsley, and Bring to a boil. Cover and cook on low 20 min.
  • Brown ground turkey.
  • Combine all ingredients and puree.
  • Pour onto greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake 1 hour. Flip and bake 1 more hour. Cut into small pieces and bake 1 more hour.

Dry Dog Food with Ground Beef and Vegetables

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 tsp. coconut oil
  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup dry milk
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 ½ cups low sodium beef broth
  • 2 cups dog-friendly vegetables – finely chopped

Directions:

  • Preheat oven 200°.
  • Cook ground beef with coconut oil.
  • Boil or steam the vegetables.
  • Combine dry milk and flour
  • Beat together eggs, vegetable oil, Worcestershire sauce, and broth.
  • Combine wet mixture and dry mixture to make dough.
  • Spread ½ inch thick on greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 30 minutes. Take out and cut into small pieces and bake another 1 hour. Turn off oven and leave door Allow to sit 1 hour.
  • Break into pieces.

Raw Dog Food Recipe

Raw Dog Food with Ground Beef and Chicken Liver

Ingredients:

  • 5 lbs. lean ground beef
  • 4 oz. chicken livers
  • 1 chopped carrot
  • 1 cored apple
  • ½ cup baby spinach
  • 2 whole eggs, including the shell
  • ½ cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp. ground flaxseed
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil

Directions:

  • Finely chop carrot, apple, and spinach in food processor.
  • Add the chicken livers, eggs, plain yogurt, flaxseed and olive oil and finely chop again.
  • Combine the mixture with the raw ground beef.
  • Only store raw food in freezer.

Dog Treat Recipes

Apple and Carrot Limited Ingredient Dog Treats

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour (you can use gluten-free flour if your dog is allergic)
  • 1 cup grated carrots
  • ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 egg

Directions:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°.
  • Mix all ingredients into dough.
  • Line cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  • Place small balls of dough about 1″ apart. Squish down with fork.
  • Bake for 25 minutes.

Pumpkin Peanut Butter Homemade Dog Treats

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups brown rice flour (or gluten-free flour if your dog has allergies)
  • ½ cup oats (you can substitute an extra ¼ cup of grain free flour instead)
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbsp. all natural peanut butter

Directions:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°.
  • Combine flour, oats, and cinnamon.
  • Whisk pumpkin, eggs, and peanut butter.
  • Slowly stir dry ingredients into wet ingredients.
  • Roll out the dough until it’s about ¼ ″ thick.
  • Cut into squares or use cookie cutter.
  • Place them well-greased cookie sheet and bake at 350° 30 minutes.
