Adding a food topper is a great way to include extra nutrition without having to switch your dog food brand. Petcurean understands that a lot of dog owners are on a budget, so they have created Petcurean Go! Meal Mixers to offers pet parents an easy and affordable way to give their pup extra nutrition.
I was interested to see how appealing these food toppers would be to our dogs. I also wanted to learn more about the nutritional benefits of these toppers, and whether they would be affordable on a budget.
While most of us are on a pretty tight budget, we also want to provide high quality nutrition for our canine companions. If you'd like to add some beneficial nutrients to your dog's food without changing the brand that you feed him, food toppers are an easy option.
Petcurean Go! Meal Mixers Review
These food toppers are made with freeze dried ingredients. They are grain-free, gluten-free and potato-free. I really like freeze dried dog food products, because you can actually see the ingredients that are used.
There are three varieties of Petcurean Go! Meal Mixers – weight control, skin & coat care, digestive health and hip & joint support. Here is a list of the ingredients in each variety:
Weight Control – Deboned Turkey, Peas, Apples, Blueberries, Pumpkin, Raspberries, Psyllium Seed Husk, Kale, Spinach, Mixed Tocopherols
Skin & Coat Care – Deboned Salmon, Peas, Apples, Blueberries, Pumpkin, Raspberries, Salmon Skin, Kale, Spinach, Mixed Tocopherols
Digestive Health – Deboned Turkey, Peas, Apples, Blueberries, Pumpkin, Raspberries, Kale, Spinach, Dried Chicory Root, Dried Lactobacillus Acidophilus Fermentation Product, Dried Enterococcus Faecium Fermentation Product, Mixed Tocopherols
Hip & Joint Support – Pork, Pork Liver, Apples, Blueberries, Pumpkin, Raspberries, Peas, Kale, Spinach, Glucosamine Hydrochloride, Chondroitin Sulphate, New Zealand Green Mussels, Turmeric, Mixed Tocopherols
Each blend is specifically formulated to help support a certain area of your dog's health and well-being. And, they are super easy to give your dog – just add them to the top of his regular meals.
As you can see in my video review above, both of our dogs LOVE Petcurean Go! Meal Mixers. I feed these products as a treat sometimes, just because they make our dogs so happy!
As you can see, the bags are only 3.5-ounces, and that is currently the only size available. It would be great if there were larger packages available for multi-pet homes like ours, but it's not a deal breaker.
You can buy a 3.5-ounce package on Amazon for $11.99. That won't last very long in our home, but I do think it's a reasonable price for the quality of the product. Obviously, using whole food ingredients and using a freeze-drying process is going to be more costly for the company.
I was expecting these food toppers to be a bit more expensive than other similar products made with lower quality ingredients. All-in-all, I think these products are a good value for the money.
