If you're looking for the right crate for your pooch, whether he's new or an established member of your family, the Revol Dog Crate by Diggs is one of the most unique options you'll find.

Learning how to crate train your dog is only the first step. You're also going to need to find the right crate for you and your pup. There are hundreds of options on the market, so how do you know which crate will be the best fit for your needs and your pet's comfort?
You'll need to consider your dog's size, how and where the crate will be used and your dog's preferences when shopping for a crate. Of course, your budget will also effect which crate you decide to purchase.
Crating a dog should not be a practice that you plan on using to contain your dog throughout the course of his life or to punish him. The primary use of crate training is house breaking. On top of that, dog crates can also be very handy when traveling with your canine companion.
The majority of dogs love being in their crates (though some do not). Generally, a comfortable crate gives your pet a place where he can be in peace and have his own space. It protects your home and reduces the number of messes you'll have to clean up.
The Revol Dog Crate is one of the newest crate options available. I had to try it out for myself, because it offers some unique features that you won't find with any other pet crate. Find out what makes this dog crate so distinctive in this detailed review.
Revol Dog Crate by Diggs Review
As I mentioned, the Revol Dog Crate is brand new to the market. Currently, it's only available in 1 size. The Small size (for dogs weighing up to 30 pounds) has outer dimensions of 28.4″ L x 20.6″ H x 20.1″ W. The Medium (for dogs weighing up to 50 pounds) and Large (for dogs weighing up to 75 pounds) sizes will be available in the coming weeks.
The crate is available in blue or grey colors, and features a patent-pending design. The first you'll notice is the unique look of the crate. It is made of reinforced plastic, high-strength steel mesh wire and high quality aluminum.
It also has a single piece frame, which makes it much sturdier than other comparable crates. The Revol Dog Crate folds flat, but not like other folding metal crates. It's easy to setup and collapse with just one hand!
As I demonstrate in my video review above, there is a circular locking handle on the top of the crate. You can grab the handle with just one hand, turn it to the unlock position and push down to fold two longest sides down. Then, just fold in the shorter sides and your crate is ready for transporting or storage.
Other folding crates can be a pain to collapse and require a decent amount of strength to set up. The Revol Dog Crate is lightweight and slides easily, so virtually anyone could set it up or collapse it in just a few seconds.
While the crate does fold flat, it's not as thin as folding metal crates when it is collapsed. However, it's much lighter than most similar crates of the same size. It also has two small wheels to make it even easier to transport.
This crate has 2 doors and 3 access points. As you can see in my video review, the front door opens with a latch that is impossible to open from the inside. One of the longer sides also slides up and latches at the top of the crate to provide another door. This door can also stay open for dogs that no longer need to be contained, yet still wish to have a den-like place to relax.
If you're looking for a crate for a new puppy, the Revol Dog Crate is a good option. The design features all round edges for safety, and it even comes with puppy divider to adjust the size of the crate as your fur baby grows.
You can also see the removable bottom tray in my video review. You should always look for a crate with this feature, just in case your dog has an accident while inside. Even the most well-trained dogs can have an emergency accident from time to time.
I expected this dog crate to have a hefty price tag for multiple reasons. First of all, it's brand new to the market. It's also very unique and made of high quality materials. I wasn't surprised to find out that this crate sells for $245 on the company's website.
While I understand that this price won't fit into every pet owners' budget, I do think the Revol crate is a good value for the money. Most crates of this size that are made with durability in mind come at a similar price point. This crate is designed to contain dogs that scratch, chew and try to escape a crate. I should also mention that it comes with a 30-day trial and free returns.
I'm not sure that it would contain a Houdini escape artist, but I do believe it would be fine for dogs that are new to crate training or dogs that try to paw and gnaw their way out of crate when fist contained.
