Just like us, our dogs crave mental stimulation. Without it, they'll get bored and begin to find things to entertain themselves. Much like a bored child, this will probably result in your dog ruining something or getting into something that he shouldn't be touching. The PetSafe Ricochet Dog Toy will keep your dog active and engaged while providing hours of enriching mental stimulation.
Most pet owners think the only objective of a dog toy is to keep pets entertained, but that's not the case. Providing a variety of the right types of toys will keep your Fido mentally stimulated, which is an important part of properly caring for him.
Virtually every dog enjoys playing with some type of toy. While some pups are power chewers and enjoy playing tug-of-war or chewing hard rubber toys, others find pleasure in simply carrying around a soft, plush stuffed animal. If your dog enjoys the stimulation of movement and noise, the PetSafe Ricochet Dog Toy may be a good option.
Keep in mind that while this toy is entertaining for both pets and their owners, it is NOT recommended for chewers. If your dog likes to chew and shred toys, this is not going to be a good option. It is an electronic toy made of hard plastic, which means it could seriously injure your dog if he's able to chew it into pieces.

As you can see in the photo above, the Ricochet is actually two dog toys that couple together electronically. They can work up to 30-feet apart. When your dog plays with one toy, the other makes a sound to distract him and engage his attention. When your dog runs to the other toy and plays with it, the opposite toy begins to make noise.
In my video review you can see that our dogs love bouncing between the two toys. The high pitched noises pull their attention, and they like to push the toys around and watch them wobble across the floor.
I also like to hide one toy and see if they can find it. Another favorite game is to place one toy outside and the other inside. Our dogs have a dog door, so they can run back and forth to get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation.
Both toys will urn off after 60 minutes of inactivity. The biggest drawback to the Ricochet dog toy is that each toy requires 3 AAA batteries. I wish they were rechargeable, but the battery life is decent. I can usually get between 8-10 hours of play time out of one set of batteries.
You can buy this dog toy on Amazon for $49.95. I know that is extremely expensive for a dog toy, but it's actually comparable in cost to other electronic, interactive toys. If your dog will engage and use this toy frequently, I think it's a pretty good value for the money spent.
The toy is durable, works very well and gives your dog plenty of mental stimulation and physical exercise. However, if you don't think that your dog is going to engage with the toy often it won't be worth the cost.
