If you’re a dog owner, you have seen the amazing effects that dogs can have on our overall health and well-being. These positive effects have piqued the interest of scientists around the world who have recently taken a strong interest in this topic. The more research is done, the more we are realizing that canine interaction has a much greater effect on humans than we originally thought.

In this week’s podcast episode, I’m chatting with Austin Gerber. He is a licensed administrator of a nursing home Good Samaritan in Ohio. He has seen the positive effects that dogs can have on his residents, and feels very strongly about making animal interaction a part of the treatment options on his campus.

Samantha’s biggest passion in life is spending time with her Boxer dogs. After she rescued her first Boxer in 2004, Samantha fell in love with the breed and has continued to rescue three other Boxers since then. She enjoys hiking and swimming with her Boxers, Maddie and Chloe.
