Review: Hyper Pet K9 Kannon Tennis Ball Launcher

If your dog likes to play fetch, a ball launcher is just what you need! The Hyper Pet K9 Kannon chucks a tennis ball so you don't have to! It even allows for hands-free pickup. Yep! That's right, no more picking up wet, drool covered tennis balls.

When you're shopping for dog toys, it's all about safety and your dog's personal preferences. While some dogs will play with virtually any toy, others are picky. If your dog loves to run and fetch, like my Labrador (Saddie), this toy will take your fetch game up a notch.

Fetch is so much more than just a way to entertain your dog. Playing games like fetch help to burn excess energy, which will ultimately lead to a more relaxed, better-behaving dog. It's also a great way to relax, have fun and foster the bond between you and your canine companion.

Saddie was born to fetch, literally. She is a retriever, so it's in her nature to enjoy running and retrieving. Sometimes I have to force her to take a break from playing fetch when I know she's getting tired. She enjoys the game so much she won't stop unless I make her!

I don't mind throwing a tennis ball for her, but there are a few drawbacks. For starters, my arm and shoulder get tired after a few big throws. I also hate picking up soggy tennis balls soaked in drool. The K9 Kannon from Hyper Pet fixes both of these problems, and I'm sharing all of the details in the following review.

Hyper Pet K9 Kannon Tennis Ball Launcher
Review

Hyper Pet K9 KannonDid you ever play with a pop gun as a child? Just imagine a pop gun that shoots tennis balls! This ball launcher is SO cool and tons of fun for your whole family, including the canine members.

The K9 Kannon can send a standard 2.5″ tennis ball flying across my yard. You can see in my video review that this gun is pretty powerful and shoots the balls with quite a bit of force. You need to use caution because it could certainly hurt someone if you aimed the tennis ball at them.

I wouldn't recommend this tennis ball launcher for small children, but it is perfectly safe when used properly by teens and adults.

In my video review, I also demonstrate how easy it is to pick up a tennis ball with this launcher without using your hands. When your dog drops the ball, simply place the end of the launcher over the ball and press gently until the ball is stuck in place.

In the photo above, you can see the 2 spots for tennis ball storage. This is important for me because I have three dogs. If one dog won't give the ball back or runs off with it, we've got another ball ready to go.

The gun is just 24″ long and very lightweight. There is also a mini option that shoots mini tennis balls. The mini version is only 16.25 inches long. Pulling the release mechanism back takes a bit of strength, but you shouldn't have any trouble as long as you don't have arthritis or weak hands.

My favorite feature is the adjustable power. I demonstrate it in my video review. If you pull the release mechanism back all the way, it launches the ball with full power. However, if you only pull it back a few inches, it won't launch the ball as far. This makes the K9 Kannon ideal for indoor or outdoor play.

You can purchase the K9 Kannon on Amazon for $19.95 right now. The price is affordable on any budget and comparable to other ball launchers on the market. I was happy to see this product at such an affordable price point, and I think it's really great value for the money!
