Recent changes in the environment have lead many people to become concerned with the air quality in and around their homes. More people are suffering with respiratory illnesses than ever before, and that is directly related to the quality of air that we breathe. This is why products like the Okaysou Apollo HEPA Air Purifier are becoming more popular every day.
On average, the EPA says that indoor air in the United States is 2 to 5 times dirtier than outdoor air, with some homes suffering even higher ratios. This number is especially high in homes with pet dander and shed fur.
One of the best ways to keep the air in your home clean is to invest in an air purifier. There are a variety of air cleaners available, from small tabletop devices that only clean a small area to expensive whole-house systems. The Okaysou Apollo HEPA Air Purifier is a mid-level solution that can clean most of the air in your home without breaking your budget.
Okaysou Apollo HEPA Air Purifier Review
The Okaysou Apollo HEPA Air Purifier claims to be a great model for pet parents. The company says that it cleans pet hair and dander from the air, as well as stinky pet odors. Having an air purifier also cuts down on the dust in your home.
When you're shopping for an air purifier, you need to make sure that you buy a product that offers a coverage area at least as large as the room(s) you plan to use it in. You will also need to consider the particle removal capacity and clean air delivery rate (CADR).
Particle removal capacity shows how effective an air purifier is at removing particles of a certain size. CADR measures the overall capacity of the unit and describes how much air it can process in terms of cubic feet per minute (CFM).
My biggest concern when it comes to air purifiers is the sound they make. I keep a purifier in my living room, and I don't want it making a noticeable noise when company is visiting or my family is trying to watch TV.
You can hear the sound in my video review above. This Okaysou air purifier is much quieter than I expected. When it's running on ‘High', you can definitely hear it. However, it shouldn't run on that setting very often. When it's set on ‘Low' the unit is whisper quiet.
The Okaysou Apollo HEPA Air Purifier has a 3-stage filtration system that includes a washable pre-filter, an H13 HEPA filter, and a honeycomb activated carbon filter. The washable pre-filter captures larger particles, the H13 HEPA filter removes at least 99.9% of airborne particles up to .3 microns, and the activated carbon filter absorbs odors and fumes from the air.
As you can see in the photo above, there is also a built-in timer that can be set for 2, 4, 6, or 8 hours. There is also a filter reset notification light and button that allows you to shut the lights off on the unit. This is a handy feature if you're using the product in a bedroom and don't want the distraction of the light while you're sleeping.
As I mentioned, it is ultra quiet at just 23 decibles. There are four fan speeds, and the device is 100% ozone free. I've cleaned our filters twice now, and they are definitely capturing a noticeable amount of pollutants from the air.
The Okaysou Smart Apollo HEPA Air Purifier cleans 100% of the air in an 800 square foot room in 1 hour. It will purify rooms of 300 square feet in just 15 minutes and 500 square feet in 30 minutes.
All in all, it is one of the highest quality air purifiers for home use. The only drawback is the price. I wasn't surprised that it sells for $129.99 on the company's website. This is very comparable to other air purifiers of a similar size.
It's actually cheaper than most models with the same filtration standards.
I know it's not the most affordable product, but when it comes to air purifiers, you get what you pay for. Cheaper options will have a lower particle removal capacity and clean air delivery rate. You do need to find a model that fits your budget, but you also need to be sure that you choose a product that will keep your air safe and healthy.
