Review: PetSafe Pawz Away Indoor Pet Barrier

One of the biggest hassles of pet ownership is keeping your dog out of places that he shouldn't be. Dogs love getting on countertops, digging in trash cans, and climbing on furniture they aren't supposed to be on. The PetSafe Pawz Away Indoor Pet Barrier is designed to keep your pup out of unwanted places.

Dogs are naturally curious. They explore the world around them with their noses. Unfortunately, this behavior also gets them into trouble sometimes.

If your dog likes to counter-surf or steal things from the trash, you need the PetSafe Pawz Away Indoor Pet Barrier. I've had trouble keeping my Labrador, Saddie, off of our counters and out of our garbage cans. When I found this product, I had to try it out and see if it was effective.

PetSafe Pawz Away Indoor Pet Barrier Review

PetSafe Pawz Away BarrierThis barrier is so versatile! You can use it for dogs or cats. We have multiple units around our home. We use the PetSafe Pawz Away Indoor Pet Barrier to keep our dogs away from litter boxes, off the counters, and garbage cans. We also use it to keep our cats off the counters and prevent them from scratching our furniture.

This device is suitable for any pet weighing more than 5 pounds with a neck size of 6″-28″. You get one transmitter unit and one receiver collar in the package. You can buy additional collars or receivers separately.

You can set the boundary from a 6-foot to 12-foot radius. When your dog approaches the boundary area, the collar will make an audible beeping sound. If he continues to enter the boundary zone, he will receive a slight (non-painful) static correction.

PetSafe Pawz AwayThe PetSafe Pawz Away barrier requires 3 AA batteries, which are not included. The receiver collar requires two 3-volt lithium batteries, which are included with the collar.

One of the best things about this product is that it is compatible with other PetSafe products. The receiver collar is compatible with the Pawz Away Outdoor Pet Barrier, the Pawz Away Mini Pet Barrier, the Pawz Away Threshold Pet Barrier, the YardMax Rechargeable In-Ground Fence and the YardMax Rechargeable In-Ground Fence Receiver Collar.

The Pawz Away barrier is effective and consistent. We've been using it for months, and my dogs only get corrected when they get close to the boundary. They never get the static correction because they quickly learn that the audible tone means they're getting too close to an unwanted area.

I've been very pleased with the PetSafe Pawz Away barrier. It's made boundary training inside our home effortless. You can purchase the package with one transmitter and one collar for $74.95 on Amazon right now.

You can buy an additional barrier for $69.95 and additional collars for $54.95 each. Considering it's effectiveness and how easy this product is to use, I believe that it's a great value for the money.
