Giveaway: Hiking Supplies for Dogs ($62+ Value)

Having the right supplies makes hiking with dogs safer and more enjoyable. A strong leash that is comfortable to hold is essential. You should also have a harness to keep your dog secure, and a backpack harness is even better! Doggy backpacks allow your pooch to carry his own supplies, taking the extra weight off your back.

We're giving one lucky person a chance to win this dog hiking supplies prize package that includes:

  • a rope-style leash from Sparkly Pets;
  • a 2-in-1 dog leash from DogNatus; and
  • a DayPak Dog Backpack from Outward Hound

Who doesn't like free stuff – especially stuff that you'd end up buying yourself anyway? If your dog needs a hiking backpack and/or leash, this is a great opportunity to receive quality products without having to spend any money out of your own pocket.

FREE Dog Supplies That You’ll Receive

Hiking Supplies for Dogs GiveawaySparklyPets Rope Leash

This is referred to as a rope dog leash, but it's not your typical rope. The SparklyPets Rope Dog Leash is made of a tough braided nylon rope, and is said to be chew resistant.  The braided nylon rope is definitely more durable than traditional nylon ribbon leashes.

SparklyPets Rope Dog LeashThe nylon braiding also features reflective pieces woven in. Many pet owners walk their dog early in the morning or in the evening after work. It's important to keep yourself and your dog highly visible when walking during these times of the day.

As you can see in the video above, this leash actually comes in 2 pieces. You get a standard 3.5′ leash and a 2′ bungee extension. The shock absorbing bungee extension offsets the strain of a dog that pulls on the leash. The bungee extension also has a traffic handle, because you never know when you made need to keep your dog close or get him under control in a difficult situation.

DogNatus 2-in-1 Dog Leash

DogNatus ZacZac Dog LeashIn my video above, I demonstrate how unique this leash is. It's a traditional nylon ribbon leash, but it's stored in a plastic doughnut shape holder. There is an ergonomically designed, non-slip handle that allows your dog to pull out more lead when necessary. This leash can withstand 100 pounds of pull force.

You can also take the leash out of the holder and use the doughnut shape as a fetch toy! The doughnut is made of a non-toxic plastic that is scratch and oil resistant.

Outward Hound Dog DayPak

This is a very lightweight pack, which is a must when shopping for a doggy backpack. The breathable mesh material and nylon fabric don't weigh a lot, and they keep your dog from getting too hot while out on an adventure.

The Outward Hound Dog DayPak features a traffic handle that sits in the middle of your dog's back. You never know what may be coming up around the next bend in the trail, and it's important to have a handle that allows you to hold your dog close when needed. If another hiker approaches or your dog sees something enticing (like a squirrel or bird), you can quickly grab the handle to ensure he stays right next to you where he belongs.

Outward Hound Daypak Dog BackpackThis pack features 4 adjustment points to allow you to get the best fit. The pack included in this giveaway is a Large size that fits a dog with a neck circumference of 14″-18″ and a chest girth of 28″-32.”

It's important that you measure for a dog backpack and find one that fits properly. A pack that is too tight could cause chaffing and irritation. A backpack that is too loose will shift around, not keeping the weight of its contents in the proper place. This could lead to serious strain on your dog's back, resulting in permanent damage.

The Outward Hound Daypak also features reflective piping, which will keep Fido seen if you're walking early in the morning or in the evening. There is a D-ring on the back of the pack to secure a leash, as well. There are 4 expandable pockets, which you can see in my video above.
