Which ones were our favorites? Today I'm rounding up my picks for the Top 10 Best Dog Products of the Year 2019.

The K9 Mask claims to be the first air pollution mask for dogs. It's certainly one of the only products of its kind on the market. Through the research that I've done online, it also seems to be the highest quality air pollution mask for canines available.
This is a n95 pm2.5 mask. That means that it blocks 95% of particulate matter measuring 2.5 micrometers or less. Particles of this size are about 30 times smaller than the width of a human hair.
There is a zipper across the top of the muzzle. Inside that zipper is an activated carbon filter. The carbon filter protects against smoke, smog, mold, emissions, toxins, allergens, bacteria, chemicals, etc…
You can see how easy it is to change the carbon filter in my video review below. The mask itself (without the filter) is washable for easy cleaning. You can also buy replacement filters ($25 for a 5-pack) to keep your pooch breathing easy. The company recommends using a filter for 4 hours before replacing it.
My Labrador, Saddie, doesn't mind wearing the K9 Mask at all. It's made of a soft material, and the strap Velcros around the back of her head to keep it from sliding around on her snout. As I demonstrate in my video review, it's extremely easy to put the mask on and take it off.
The mask is available in sizes Small to Extra Large. The measuring guidelines are:
- Small – muzzle length of 4.0-7.0 cm (1.6-2.8 in) and muzzle circumference of 11.5-16.5 cm (4.5-6.5 in)
- Medium – muzzle length of 7-11cm (2.8-4.3 in) and muzzle circumference of 17.5-23.0 cm (7.0-9.0 in)
- Large – muzzle length of 9.5-12cm (3.7-4.7 in) and muzzle circumference of 23.0-33.0 cm (9.0-13.0 in)
- Extra Large – muzzle length of 11.5-15.0 cm (4.5-5.9 in) and muzzle circumference of 33.0-45.0 cm (13.0-17.5 in)
This product would make a great addition to any first aid kit. You never know when you're going to be involved in an emergency. This mask could protect your pet while on the scene of a building fire or car accident. If you live in an area where wild fires are common, this mask could be a life saver for your canine companion.

This is one of those products that is so simple it's hard to believe that no one had thought of it before. Now that I've used this grooming aide, I'll never go back to bathing my dogs without it. That's one of the top reasons why it made my list of the best pet gear of 2019.
The Lick Lick Pad features an extremely simple design. It's a very thin piece of 100% food grade silicone shaped like a bone. In the center of the pad are a bunch of bumps. When you spread peanut butter on these bumps, the Lick Lick Pad becomes a tasty challenge for your pup.
The pad is lead, BPA, DBP and BPS free. It has no phthalates. In layman's terms, it is completely safe for all dogs. You won't need to worry that harmful chemicals from the silicone are leaching into your dog's food.
The best thing about the Lick Lick Pad is that it is designed to stick to any flat, smooth surface. It is perfect for sticking on the side of the bath tub to occupy your pooch while you bathe him.
The pad can stick to the wall, a grooming table or even a hard floor. If your dog moves around while you bathe him, brush his coat, clip his nails or perform any other necessary grooming task, the Lick Lick Pad will distract him and keep him still.
I think this product would work for any dog that is food motivated. Of course, if your canine companion doesn't care much about treats, he may not be distracted by this tool. I also love that the Lick Lick Pad can be cleaned in the dishwasher.

This travel dog feeder looks like a lunchbox. I love the adorable aesthetic appearance! I chose the grey/pink color, but it is also available in teal/yellow, grey/purple, orange/black and blue/grey.
The entire feeder is made of food safe materials, so you don't have to worry about harmful chemicals leaching into your pup's water or food. As you will see in my video review below, there are two bowls inside the pail that seal closed when you shut the lid.
You can store food and water right in the bowls without having to worry about spills. There are also two 20-ounce removable bottles inside the pail. These bottles have screw-on tops to seal in food and water.
My Pet Pail meets airline carry-on requirements and measures 12″L x 6″W x 8″H.
If you take out the smaller bowls (the pink bowls in the photo above), there are 2 built-in bowls available to hold a larger amount of food. You can also put ice packs in these built-in bowls and then place the removable bowls back on top. This will allow you to keep raw or homemade dog food cold while traveling.
I love the included collar and leash that come with My Pet Pail. In my video review I demonstrate how the collar becomes the handle of the pail and the leash can become a shoulder strap. If you'd prefer to use your own collar and leash, you can do that too!
There is even a place to put dog poop bags underneath the bowls in this travel feeder. You can pull the bags out through a small hole in the back of the pail.
My favorite thing about My Pet Pail is that you can pop the top off of the pail and use the bottom as a traditional feeder in your home. This is also great if you're bringing your dog along to stay in a hotel or with family/friends while on vacation. The bottom features non-slip rubber to keep the bowls from sliding around while your dog is eating.

7 100+ Foot Flying Ring Launcher Dog Toy
- Find it on Amazon ($59.99)
Our dogs loves this toy. Honestly, I love this toy too! It's so much fun to use, and I love how excited our dogs get when I take it out to play. Just look at Saddie's face in the photo above!
The HurriK9 can launch a foam ring up to 100 feet, and you can see me demonstrate this in my video review. This dog toy was actually designed by a rocket scientist! It's modeled after an airplane wing, which is why it cuts through the air and flies so well.
The rings are made of durable EVA foam. They are self-healing and 100% safe and non-toxic for your pup. In my video you can see our dogs fetch the ring and chew on it for a few minutes. They've actually been playing with that ring for days, and it only shows a few small bite marks and some dirt.
Keep in mind that these rings are made to withstand bite marks, but NOT chewing. You can't leave the rings down for your dog when you're not using them for fetch. If you have multiple dogs like I do, you'll want to supervise them and take the rings away if they start playing tug-of-war with them.
My favorite thing about the HurriK9 Ring Launcher is that it can be used indoors or outside. If you pull the launcher back all the way it shoots the ring up to 100 feet. However, if you only pull it back 1/4 of the way, it will only shoot about 25 feet. The less you pull it back, the shorter distance it will shoot.
The rings also float on water. Unless you have mobility or strength issues with your hands/arms, I would recommend this dog toy for any pup that likes to fetch.
It's not the cheapest dog toy out there, but trust me when I say that you will get your money's worth out of the HurriK9 Ring Launcher. The launcher and rings will last a long time, and you'll have just as much fun playing with this as your dog will.

Some of the best dog products of the year focused on sustainability in the pet industry, including these treats. Jiminy's Cricket Protein Dog Treats are available in a soft chew or crunchy cookie variety. The treats are quite small, so I would definitely recommend them for any size pooch. They are available in 4 different flavors:
- Peanut Butter & Blueberry Cookies
- Pumpkin & Peanut Butter Cookies
- Sweet Potato, Apple & Peanut Butter Cookies
- Peas & Sweet Potato Chewy Treats
Depending on the flavor that you choose, these dog treats have between 2.9-9 calories per treat. This makes them a low calorie option for training purposes.
The cricket protein is what makes these treats stand out from others on the market. Not only are crickets a sustainable source of protein, they are also a source of very lean protein, iron, fiber and all of the essential amino acids.
According to Jiminy's, it takes 22,000 times more water to raise a cow than it does to raise a cricket. Similarly, it takes 2,300 times more water to raise a chicken than a cricket. In fact, they say that if you compare a 5-ounce bag of their Cricket Protein Dog Treats to the same size bag of traditional dog treats, they save about 220 gallons of water per bag!
It also takes 93% less land to raise crickets than beef and 67% less land to raise crickets than chickens. Jiminy's even partnered with Carbon Credit Capital to measure the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with their products. They found that their cricket protein treats produce 740% less GHG emissions than traditional beef dog treats and 270% less than chicken treats.
Cricket powder scores as high in digestibility for dogs as chicken or beef protein. Cricket powder is also a natural pre-biotic! Cricket powder is hypoallergenic as well. These dog treats are made in the USA and free of corn, wheat and soy. They are not made with any artificial preservatives, artificial colors or antibiotics.
These dog treats are grain and gluten free, non-GMO and made with limited ingredients. The crickets are sourced 100% in North America. The full list of ingredients for each recipe are:
- Peanut Butter & Blueberry Cookies – Peanut Butter, Cricket Powder, Ground Flax Seed, Lentils, Blueberries, Molasses, Coconut Oil, Sea Salt, Citric Acid, Buffered Distilled White Vinegar, Antioxidants (Canola Oil, Mixed Tocopherols, Rosemary Extract, Green Tea Extract)
- Pumpkin & Peanut Butter Cookies – Cricket Powder, Lentils, Pumpkin Puree, Ground Flax Seed, Peanut Butter, Molasses, Coconut Oil, Sea Salt, Cinnamon, Citric Acid, Buffered Distilled White Vinegar, Antioxidants (Canola Oil, Mixed Tocopherols, Rosemary Extract, Green Tea Extract)
- Sweet Potato, Apple & Peanut Butter Cookies – Cricket Powder, Lentils, Sweet Potato Puree, Ground Flax Seed, Peanut Butter, Apple Puree, Coconut Oil, Sea Salt, Citric Acid, Buffered Distilled White Vinegar, Antioxidants (Canola Oil, Mixed Tocopherols, Rosemary Extract, Green Tea Extract)
- Peas & Sweet Potato Chewy Treats – Sweet Potato, Yellow Pea, Oats, Crickets, Vegetable Glycerin, Molasses, Tapioca, Vegetable Gelatin, Canola Oil, Salt, Natural Flavor, Potassium Sorbate (apreservative), Distilled Vinegar, Natural Smoke Flavor, Garlic, Rosemary

The Halti No-Pull Harness has thin straps that wrap around your dog's chest, under his legs, and back up over his shoulders. Unlike traditional dog harnesses that have a large chest plate, this harness has a much smaller chest panel.
The chest panel has a patented non-slip design to keep it in place and allow you to have optimum control over your dog at all times. There are attachment points on the chest and between the dog's shoulder blades. The harness also has 3 adjustment points to ensure you get the right fit.
In my video review you will see how the Halti Harness tightens around your dog if he pulls on the lead. This tightening does NOT hurt your dog. It simply gives him correction and redirects the pulling behavior.
This dog harness is made of lightweight, breathable neoprene that has elastic woven in. It has reinforced nylon piping to add durability. There is also reflective taping along the harness to provide added visibility in the dark. This no-pull harness is available in sizes ranging from small to large for dogs with a neck measurement of 8.5″-24.5″.
There is also a matching training lead that is the ideal leash to use with the Halti No-Pull Harness. It's actually a 6-in-1 leash. You can use it as a:
- short lead
- medium lead
- long lead
- hands-free lead
It can also be used to walk 2 dogs at the same time or to steer the Halti Harness. As you will see in my video review, there is a latch on each end of the lead. If you attach one to the chest clip and one to the back clip of the Halti Harness, you can easily steer and control your dog without having to worry about him pulling.
I like the soft padded material that this leash is made of. It's comfortable on your hand, even on long walks. Of course, you can use this training lead with any dog harness or collar.

There are 2 sizes of the Gen7Pets Cool-Air Cot available. The medium size holds dogs weighing up to 60 pounds. I have the large size, and it holds dogs weighing up to 90 pounds. As you can see in the photo above, our Labrador fits just fine on the larger size.
The bed is very easy to put together and takes just a few minutes. You can also take it apart for easy storage or travel. The elevated frame is made of powder coated steel, so it won't rust. The frame is covered with a mesh cover that lifts your pet off the ground.
The sleeping surface of the large Gen7Pets Cool-Air Cot measures 36″ W x 22″ D x 8″ H.
The mesh also allows air to flow through constantly – keeping your pup cool during the hot summer months. I like the raised, curved back and my dogs do too! They enjoy curling up against the back rest. I like it because it prevents them from falling off the edge of the elevated bed when they stretch out.
This dog bed does feature double stitching for added durability, and it is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. I also like the adjustable mesh. I demonstrate this in my video review below. There are small straps underneath the bed that can be used to tighten the mesh if it begins to sag over time.

The PetDek is definitely one of the most unique products on my list of the Best Dog Products of 2019. It's a platform that extends across the length of your vehicle's backseat. There are two extending legs that adjust to reach the floor of the car. The legs lock into place once you get them adjusted.
The PetDek can be installed in just a few seconds. You just have to lay it across the seat, adjust the legs and lock them into place.
The removable carpet covering has a no-slip rubber backing, and it's machine washable. The carpet is also just a few inches longer than the PetDek, so you can wrap it around and tuck it underneath the sides of the base to secure it.
The platform doesn't block any of the vents in my car, and it doesn't technically block any of the seat belt buckles either. However, it does make it more difficult to access the buckles. In my video review below, you can see just how little space is left between the PetDek and the back rest of the seat.
The PetDek platform is is made of plastic, so you can easily spray it off with the hose or wipe it down with a wet cloth if it gets dirty. The company claims that it fits virtually any 4-door vehicle, but there may be some minor gaps depending on your vehicle's model.
If the platform doesn't fit securely in your backseat, the company recommends using rolled up blankets or pillows to fill the gaps. I think that would be a bit inconvenient, especially if you had to take the platform in and out of your vehicle regularly. Thankfully, it fits perfectly in my 2016 Nissan Pathfinder.
When it's set up, the platform measures 23″W x 48″L x 2″H. It provides 8 square feet of level space and can support up to 200 pounds. Even better, the entire thing folds in half for easy storage in the trunk and only weighs 12 pounds.

It's easy to install this pet door into the track of your sliding glass door. There is a top height adjuster that is spring loaded. You just pull the adjuster down, slide the door into the track, and then release the adjuster to fit the exact height of your door.
The door comes in 2 pieces (top and bottom), and they attach with just a few simple screws. The sliding glass pet door also attaches to your door frame with screws. I'm not especially handy, but I was able to put this PetSafe dog door together and install it myself in just about 15 minutes.
There are 2 heights available:
- 76 and 13/16″ – 81″
- 91 and 7/16″ – 96″
Each height is available with 5 different door flap sizes:
- Small – 5″ x 8″ flap
- Medium – 8″ x 12″ flap
- Large – 10″ x 16″ flap
- Large/Tall – 10″ x 16″ flap with an 8″ rise
- X-Large – 14″ x 24″
The measuring guidelines for this dog door shown in my full product review below. We have the large size, and it works well for our Labrador and our Beagle. Even our cats go in and out through our sliding glass pet door. If you have a multi-pet household, I recommend choosing the size that is appropriate for your largest pet.
The aluminum frame is very sturdy, and it features tempered glass for extra durability. The PetSafe Sliding Glass Pet Door is lined with weather stripping, and it has a magnetic flap closure. It does keep out rain and mild temperature changes, but this may not be the best choice if you live in a region with extremely cold winters.
I also like that this dog door has a slide-in closing panel. We do not allow our animals to go outside at night without supervision. I can easily slide the panel in when it's time for them to stay inside for the night.
I would also recommend this as a great dog door option for renters. Since it slides into the track of an existing sliding glass door, you don't have to worry about cutting holes in your wall or doors. Plus, it's easy to take along with you if you have to move.

At the top of my list for the best dog supplies of the year is this memory training puzzle toy and dog treat dispenser from Arf Pets. This puzzle toy is quite simple to use. There is a button and a small treat/food dispenser. When your dog pushes the button, an audible tone plays and a small amount of food is dispensed.
The button can communicate with the dispenser from up to 100 feet away. At first, you place the button right next to the dispenser. This allows your dog to get an immediate reward. He'll learn pretty quickly that when he pushes the button, food is released from the dispenser.
You can begin to gradually increase the distance between the button and the dispenser as your pup starts to grasp the concept of the Arf Pets Memory Training Puzzle Toy. The concept is simple, so it caters to virtually all dogs of every breed and size.
It won't be difficult to train your pup to use it at all, as long as he is food motivated. Arf Pets even includes a short training guide to walk you through the process.
I like that this toy promotes mental stimulation while also getting my dogs physically active. By spacing the button and food dispenser further apart, our pups have to continuously walk back and forth between the two. I usually place the feeder in one room and the button in another, which means they have to walk a good distance to get to their reward.
The Arf Pets Memory Training Puzzle Toy also comes with a suction cup to attach the button to a wall or a garden stake if you wish to place the button outside. You could even use this puzzle toy with a cat, if he'd be motivated enough to seek out the treats.
I also like the fact that the number of treats varies each time. This keeps your dog engaged and makes the thrill of a “jackpot” even more exciting!
The only thing I don't like about this product is that requires a lot of disposable batteries. I would love to see Arf Pets make a rechargeable model in the future, but for now this puzzle feeder requires 4 C batteries and 3 AAA batteries. This will get costly over time, and it's not very eco-friendly.
